“ Five Guys is mainly known for their hamburgers, but I tried their hot dog for the first time, and I was impressed. I did not realized that the lowly hot dog is entitled to the same free option of toppings as the burger, and I loaded mine with grilled onion, grilled mushroom, ketchup and mustard. I think pickles would go well with the hot dog too. It took less time for the hot dog to be grilled, and it's sliced in half to expose more surface for the grilling. Everything came together nicely. ”

But, as I understand it, they don't have freezers either. While the food is good, the lack of shakes is a drag for the pure burger experience. The place has a 50s burger-diner vibe. The free peanuts and peanut-laden floor is part of the deal, and it's cool. The food is cooked to order. The servers are friendly. The food comes up in a reasonable time, depending on how busy they are. I like 5 Guys. But they're a one trick pony, and shakes aren't part of the trick. That means I can't give them 5 stars. But the burgers and fries are really good. ”
